Prayer request posted on 01/29/2010 at 00:49
Please pray for the various ministries we have during the week:
Sunday AM and PM Service (CC Daejeon)
Tuesday Bible Study (Cheongju English Institute, many non-Christians attend)
Wednesday English Class (CC Daejeon)
Thursday Morning Bible Study (near Chungnam National University, Daejeon)
Thursday Bible Study (CC Daejeon)
Friday Bible Study (Daejeon English Institute, many non-Christians attend)
Saturday Morning Men’s and Women’s Bible Study (CC Daejeon)
Saturday Afternoon Orphanage Ministry (Daejeon)
Please pray for the interns (from CCBC) serving in Korea:
Jesse Spencer is leading worship and teaching various Bible studies – please pray for him to finish his time here well as he is in his second six month commitment here – pray that he will use his time here in a way that will be productive for himself spiritually as well as the people he is ministering to.
Christina Jones is preparing to come to Korea in a couple weeks – please pray for her for her provision and for those strange feelings you have to deal with when starting something new.
Daniel Sedota, who was one of my first two interns, is planning to come back in March as full-time staff for us here at Calvary Chapel Daejeon – please pray for him as he goes through the process of preparing to come as a missionary – he will be working to raise prayer and financial support which can be frustrating when you first start out.
Please also pray that the Lord would continue to provide interns both short and long term to serve here in Korea. They have been such a blessing to the ministry and the people here.
Please pray for Pastor Tommy Ruis at CCBC Okinawa who graciously encourages the young people to come and serve here in Korea. All of our interns have been a direct result of his prayers and encouragement to the students.
Please also pray for the other ministries we are participating in here in Korea:
Korean School of Ministry – I will continue to teach one day a week (Tuesdays) at the school. While I teach at KSoM, the interns go to a local college for an English class, Bible study and fellowship with a group of college students. Pray that the Lord would continue to draw students to KSoM to be biblically trained for ministry.
Calvary Chapel Church Association – please pray that the Lord will provide for this financially to show us whether or not He is in it. Between the four churches that are trying to form this association in Korea, we need to come up with a total of $50,000 just to get it started. The benefit of this association (non-profit corporation) is to allow us to continue church planting efforts in Korea and to be able to easily get missionary visas for people to come long-term without needing to leave the country every three months to renew their entry permission in Korea (currently a person can stay 3 months without a visa but then they have to leave and come back if they want to stay longer). There are other reasons to form this association, but these two reasons are the most important for Calvary Chapel Daejeon. The money has to go into a long-term savings account or property investment in order for the Korean government to recognize us as an operating corporation. The hard part is that once the money goes into it and the association is formed, that money remains tied up in that account as long as the corporation stays alive. So we are definitely seeking the Lord to provide for this if He wants us to do it since once the money is there it is completely out of use for who knows how long.
As always, thank you for your prayers & support,
Mike, Hye-Young & Jeena Loudermilk
